What is a TCG?Online Trading Card Games are similar to the trading cards you knew as a child. Rather than playing in person and collecting cards from packs at the store, you collect everything online. The goal is to collect all of the cards you like, also know as mastering a deck. Online TCGs are free to play, a lot of fun, and very addictive! Interested in joining? Check out the rest of this section before moving on to the join form!
What kind of TCG is Cover?Cover is a TCG that features all kinds of cover images on puzzle decks. We have dvd/bluray/vhs covers, game covers, book covers, cd/vinyl covers, etc. All of the decks show only one cover per deck, the cards are all puzzle cards.
You can preview all the card decks here.
Trade PostBefore you join, you need a place to store your stuff, also know as a trade post. To make life easier for you and for your fellow TCG members, you should separate your cards--at least into groups of keeping and trading. You are also required to keep a detailed card log, showing how you got every card. The final thing you need on your site is a way to contact you, either a form or an email link, so you can trade.
Levels & Level UpsWhen you join Cover, you begin at level one and work your way up through the levels. The requirements for each level are posted here.
Leveling Up: 2 choice cards and 5 random cards
CurrencyCover is a lightweight TCG. We do not have any currency here. However, choice cards will be granted at random times through the updates.
Card TypesAll the cards on Cover are worth 1, except for membercards, which are worth 0. Card decks either have 20 cards (categories cinema, television, gaming, literature) or 12 cards (category music). All decks are puzzle decks, showing a single cover image per deck.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There currently is an error with the randomizer. It might happen that you get cards numbered 17-20 for decks that only have 16 cards. If this happens to you, please exchange the card for the same decks card number minus 10. For example, if you received ladygagathefamemonster17, please take ladygagathefamemonster07 instead, or if you received thebeatlesabbeyroad20, take thebeatlesabbeyroad10 instead. Sorry for the inconvenience!
MasteringOnce you have collected all of the cards in a deck, you have mastered the deck. This means you cannot trade away any of these cards (except for doubles, of course) but you will receive some rewards for doing so. You can also master member cards by collecting 15 of them.
20 Card deck: 2 choice cards and 4 random cards
12 Card deck: 2 choice cards and 2 random cards
Member Cards: 1 choice card and 3 random cards
Trade CardsIf you wish to do so, you can use one of the Trade Cards to keep track of and display the trades you made. You will be rewarded for every full Trace Card, which will be 30 card trades. What counts towards a card trade is not the number of individual trades with members, but the total number of cards you traded with them. Member Cards do not count. The way in which you mark off your Trade Cards or if you want to use them at all is entirely up to you.
